New to BOCC?
Body of Christ Church
The Body of Christ Church (BOCC) exists to provide a non-judgmental, relevant atmosphere; to introduce all people regardless of race, sex, or culture, to a personal and dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ; to encourage personal growth through teaching, caring, and sharing of our spiritual gifts.
What We Believe
Mission Statement We believe both the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, revealing the three Persons of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as true God and true man. We believe man is redeemed by grace through faith in Christ’s vicarious atonement for sins, the shedding of His blood on the Cross. We believe the gift of eternal life is available to all men; that those who receive Christ by faith are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ, His imminent return, and the resurrection of His people.
About Our Pastor
Pastor Kelvin D. Redmond, Sr. Compassionate, relevant, transparent, scholarly, humorous, visionary and downright crazy about life. These are just a few words that describe the man, the mission and the ministry of Pastor Kelvin Redmond, more affectionately know as “PK” (Pastor Kelvin) to his friends.
Kelvin is the founding pastor of Body of Christ Church of Raleigh, NC. Since the church’s inception in 1991 with only five original members, BOCC has flourished to minister to multitudes daily through the hub of more than 50 ministries. Some of the ministries include Foster Care and Adoption, Divorce Care, Prison Ministry, vibrant children’s and youth ministries, world wide missions ministries and a plethora of ministries that extend beyond the walls of its campus.
God’s vision for ministry through His servant Kelvin has allowed BOCC to build not only a building that houses three Sunday morning worship experiences but a Dream Center that services the community through fitness and wellness programs, a dinner theatre for entertainment, a sports lounge for recreation and a wealth of other ministries to cut side doors and back doors open that lead people to the love of Christ.
God has given Kelvin the opportunity to minister on just about every platform including prisons, college campuses, seminaries, church conferences, remote villages and mega churches. His pulpit preaching has spanned the globe from Africa to Asia and from Canada to Columbia, SC. He has a passion not only for cultural relevancy in his preaching but with a commitment to biblical accuracy and faithfulness to the text. Kelvin was born and raised in Detroit, MI and has earned his degrees under the tutelage of not only some great institutions but influential leaders that have impacted his life personally and professionally.
Kelvin understands personally that life is a journey and sometimes this journey presents all sorts of detours, blowouts, speed bumps and obstacles. Through his personal and ministry experience he understands the grace and mercy of God in not only the theological sense but from a very practical platform and believes that God loves all people regardless of who they are and where they have been.
Servant-Leader… Sheep-Shepherd… Student-Teacher… Sinner–Saved by Grace… That’s Pastor Kelvin Redmond!
